The Artist’s Room gallery & The Framers Studio, Dunedin are located in the heart of Dunedin’s ‘arts quarter’ – just South of the Octagon, and a five minute walk from the city’s Public Art Gallery. Housed on levels one & two of the heritage listed “Commerce Building” (built in 1876) – with wonderful vista’s over Queens Gardens.

Our Story

Founded in 2004, The Artists Room has established itself as one of Dunedin’s leading galleries.

Managing Director and one of the gallery founders - Michelle Chalklin-Sinclair, along with her friendly, knowledgeable team have created a welcoming, creative space with an on-site framing studio. Representing a large variety of both New Zealand and International artists they pride themselves on showcasing exceptional talent and a deep appreciation for the artistic process.

Our Collection

At The Artists Room, we take pride in our carefully curated collection that spans various styles, mediums, and themes. With a large variety of paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics & other thought-provoking mixed media pieces, our gallery offers something for every art enthusiast.

Gallery Space

The gallery consists of two large areas, (Room one & Room two) connected via a smaller adjoining space.

Even when our solo / joint exhibitions are taking place, we always have a variety of works from a large selection of artists to view.
